I currently serve as an ESOL Coach for my school district in Maryland. I work with both ESOL and mainstream teachers to help them improve the quality of their instruction for their English language learners. During my career, I have taught grades k-8, with most of that time spent working with grades 4-8. I have also been to Busan, S. Korea, twice to conduct teacher training programs on Content Based English Instruction Curriculum for Korean mainstream public school teachers working for the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education. I also conduct numerous continuing professional development courses and workshops designed to help mainstream teachers better recognize and serve the needs of their ELLs.
I hold a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee in Foreign Language and ESL Education. I am licensed to teach PreK-12 ESOL and Middle Grades Language Arts in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Maryland.
I love teaching my students and creating new teaching materials to make learning exciting. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my husband, traveling to other countries, learning new languages and camping. I have lived in Barcelona, Spain, and traveled to many other places. I speak fluent Spanish and conversational German in addition to my native English; I am also learning Korean at the moment.
I am also an author on the blog The Lesson Cloud. You can contact me by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I also encourage you to leave comments on posts here on the blog! I try to reply to each one!
